  • This Trust is seeking a dynamic and committed Consultant Cardiologist to join our expanding team of six cardiologists. This new post supports the development of state-of-the-art services, with future plans for a CMR service. The role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of cardiology services in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Requirements

Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)

Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Cardiology (or within 6 months of interview)

Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCP)

Typical Job Plan

A standard job plan includes:

1 day/week dedicated to the new diagnostic centre

1 day/week for sub-specialty activity (e.g., stress echo, myoview, or other interests)

1 in 7 weeks as “Cardiologist of the Week” – focused on inpatient care, ED support, and weekend ward rounds (Saturday and Sunday mornings)

Outpatient clinics: Typically 11 follow-ups (telephone) or 3 new + 6 follow-ups (face-to-face)

On-call rota: 1 in 7 weekends (Friday–Sunday) and fixed weekday on-call (not prospectively covered)

Services include general cardiology, CTCA, echocardiography, and myoview imaging

Strong collaboration with radiology and regional centres for advanced imaging and interventions

About the Hospital

A small, friendly, and ambitious organisation serving the local population. Proud to be one of the few integrated health and social care providers in the NHS, offering a wide range of services from acute hospital care to community and mental health services. The hospital is a modern facility with strong links to regional centres in Worcester and Birmingham. A new diagnostic centre, located just one mile from the hospital, is set to open shortly, featuring a Canon Aquilion SP 160 CT scanner.
