Consultant Trainer

Key Responsibilities

1. Teacher Training & Facilitation

• •Deliver face-to-face and, where required, virtual training programmes for teachers and education stakeholders.
• •Facilitate training sessions using participatory, experiential and activity-based methodologies.
• •Conduct demonstrations, modelling sessions, practice activities, teach-backs and reflection sessions.
• •Create an environment that encourages teacher participation, discussion and application.
• •Adapt facilitation approaches based on participant profiles, school contexts and learning needs.
• •Support teachers in translating training concepts into classroom practice.

2. Domain Expertise

The Consultant Trainer should have demonstrated experience in at least one of the following domains:

A. Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)

• •Foundational literacy and numeracy concepts and classroom practices.
• •Early-grade language and mathematics pedagogy.
• •Play-based, activity-based and experiential approaches.
• •Reading, writing, oral language and foundational mathematics.
• •Classroom assessment and identification of learning gaps.
• •Familiarity with NIPUN Bharat / foundational learning objectives will be an advantage.

B. English Language Learning & Acquisition

• •English language teaching and language acquisition.
• •Teaching English in multilingual classroom contexts.
• •Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (LSRW).
• •Communicative language teaching and learner-centred pedagogy.
• •Vocabulary, grammar and reading development.
• •Understanding of language acquisition principles.
• •Familiarity with CEFR or other language proficiency frameworks will be an advantage.

C. Pedagogy

• •Strong understanding of effective teaching-learning practices.
• •Learner-centred and activity-based pedagogy.
• •Experiential and inquiry-based learning.
• •Differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices.
• •Lesson planning, classroom management and assessment.
• •Ability to translate pedagogical theories into practical classroom strategies.

D. Use of Technology in Education

• •Integration of technology into teaching and learning.
• •Digital pedagogy and technology-enabled classroom practices.
• •Use of digital tools and platforms for teaching, learning and assessment.
• •Ability to demonstrate technology tools to teachers with varying levels of digital proficiency.
• •Familiarity with AI-enabled educational tools will be an advantage.

3. Training Preparation & Design

• •Study training manuals, facilitator guides, presentations and supporting resources before delivery.
• •Prepare for training through dry runs, practice and self-learning.
• •Provide feedback on training materials based on field experience.
• •Adapt examples and activities to local classroom contexts without compromising programme objectives.
• •Support the CCT team in developing or refining training resources when required.

4. Field Implementation

• •Travel extensively within the assigned state to conduct teacher training programmes.
• •Work across urban, semi-urban and rural locations as required.
• •Coordinate with project teams, school leaders and field teams to ensure smooth training delivery.
• •Maintain professional conduct and represent KEF appropriately at partner and beneficiary locations.
• •Demonstrate flexibility regarding training locations, schedules and participant groups.

5. Documentation & Quality Assurance

• •Maintain accurate records of trainings conducted, participant attendance and training-related data.
• •Complete training reports and feedback documentation within stipulated timelines.
• •Collect and communicate field-level observations, challenges and success stories.
• •Use participant feedback and observation data to improve subsequent training delivery.
• •Adhere to KEF's training quality standards and processes.
