• This role focuses on the ongoing engineering and maintenance of a large-scale browser graphics stack covering rendering, compositing, images, canvas, and WebGL.
• You will help keep complex graphics systems healthy by resolving bugs, regressions, incoming issues, and test-related challenges.
• The position requires diagnosing graphics problems across multiple operating systems and hardware environments.
• You will work within a mature, multithreaded codebase where strong debugging, optimization, and technical judgment are essential.
• Your contributions will help reduce technical backlog and regressions while improving the reliability of the graphics area.
• You will also participate in code reviews and routine engineering work, allowing senior engineers to dedicate more time to performance-focused initiatives.
• This is a remote contract opportunity suited to an independent engineer who can take technical ownership in a complex open-source software environment.
