Position: Controller

Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid 9/80 Schedule)

Reports to: CFO

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and finance operations of our U.S. subsidiary. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Company's financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, and supporting executive management with financial analysis and strategic decision-making.

This role is intended for an individual with demonstrated leadership ability and the potential to assume broader financial leadership responsibilities over time. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted business partner to the CFO and executive leadership while helping guide the continued growth of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and month-end/year-end close.

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Ensure timely completion of all financial reporting to executive management and the parent company.

Maintain the integrity of the Company's financial records and accounting systems.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Partner with the CFO to prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.

Analyze operating results, identify trends, and communicate business insights to senior management.

Develop and review ROI analyses, capital investment evaluations, and financial models supporting strategic business decisions.

Evaluate profitability, margins, working capital, and operational performance metrics.

Internal Controls & Compliance

Maintain and continuously improve the Company's internal control environment.

Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate annual financial statement audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.

Support tax compliance activities by coordinating with external tax advisors and reviewing tax-related information.

Business Partnership

Provide financial guidance to Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Program Management.

Assist management in evaluating new business opportunities, pricing decisions, and capital investments.

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.

Leadership

Manage and mentor staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Develop standardized policies and procedures to improve financial operations.

Serve as a key member of the finance leadership team and provide backup support to the CFO as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

CPA strongly preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience.

Five or more years of leadership experience managing accounting/finance functions.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.

Working knowledge of U.S. corporate tax concepts sufficient to coordinate effectively with external tax advisors.

Experience preparing financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and management reporting packages.

Experience developing financial models and ROI analyses.

Strong understanding of internal controls and financial governance.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is highly desirable.

Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within a manufacturing or technology manufacturing environment.

Experience with inventory accounting, standard or average costing, and cost accounting.

Experience working within a multinational company or subsidiary reporting structure.

Experience supporting external audits.

Exposure to ASC 606, ASC 842, and other significant U.S. GAAP standards.

Experience partnering directly with executive leadership.

This position is Hybrid, which requires a blend of onsite and a remote working schedule.

The base salary range for this role is $230,000 to $250,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.

In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual incentive bonus program.
