At a glance:

We are seeking a motivated Controls Project Engineer to join our team in Barcelona, Spain . In this role, you will design, program, test, and commission PLC controls for our automated material handling and warehouse automation systems. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and customers, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality automation solutions across Southern Europe.

Your Impact:

• •Design and develop PLC control software for automated material handling and warehouse systems.
• •Lead and execute controls engineering activities throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• •Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across international locations to deliver integrated automation solutions.
• •Coordinate technical interfaces with third-party equipment suppliers and software partners.
• •Ensure controls projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
• •Perform in-house testing, validation, and troubleshooting of PLC software and hardware.
• •Travel to customer sites to commission systems, conduct functional testing, and support customer acceptance activities.
• •Support customer go-live and ramp-up phases and ensure a successful handover to the lifecycle services organization.

What makes you a great fit ?

• •Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, Controls Technology, or a related field.
• •Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
• •Strong knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal and PLC-based control applications.
• •Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• •Ability to manage technical interfaces and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.
• •Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• •Native Spanish speaker with a good command of English.
• •Pragmatic, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
• •Team player with the ability to balance quality, cost, lead time, and technical requirements.
• •Willingness to travel internationally up to 50%.
