Corporate Accountant

Your Role at Walker

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Assist with weekly, monthly, yearly accounting processes (accounts payable, expense reports processing).

Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.

Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.

Manage state and local city registrations, licenses, and related tax filings.

Assist in the preparation of budgets, monitoring performance against targets.

Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.

Assist with the identification, design, and implementation of AI automation tools.

Participate in tasks and research with the current Strategic Plan implementation.

Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Accounting to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased efficiency.

Utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance financial analysis, reporting, and accounting processes.

Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

2-4 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.

Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.

Experience and Proficiency with ERP software (Deltek is a plus).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. (Advanced skills with Excel and Word).

Experience in Co-pilot, Chat GPT, Power BI (or other financial dashboard software) is advantageous.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Work Environment:

This role typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings or training sessions.

Hybrid (2-3 days per week in office) schedule is available after initial training and onboarding.

Compensation & Benefits

At Walker Consultants, we are committed to maintaining fairness and equity in our pay practices. For this role, the estimated base salary range is $65,000 – $85,000 per year. The final salary offered may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law.
