The Opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, we are looking for a Finance Controller Specialist to join our Finance Function and play a critical role in driving financial planning, controlling excellence, and process standardization across a global organization. In this role, you will partner with key stakeholders to support financial performance management through robust planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes.

You will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of functional controlling processes, ensuring alignment with global standards while supporting business growth and operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with finance leaders, process owners, and business teams across regions, gaining exposure to a multinational matrix environment.

How You'll Make an Impact

• •Drive global standardization and continuous improvement of financial controlling processes across the organization.
• •Manage and support end-to-end processes related to Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet review, and Variance Analysis.
• •Coordinate and execute budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• •Monitor process performance through KPIs and recommend actions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• •Collaborate with finance teams, Centers of Excellence (CoE), and business stakeholders to ensure compliance with process standards.
• •Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, and support implementation of corrective actions.
• •Facilitate process governance activities, including process documentation, policy adherence, and change management.
• •Review and support process enhancement initiatives, ensuring alignment with global finance standards.
• •Foster strong stakeholder relationships and provide guidance on finance process requirements and best practices.
• •Leverage AI, digital technologies, and reporting tools to improve financial insights, productivity, and decision-making.

Your Background

Required Qualifications

• •Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA).
• •2 to 5 years of experience in Financial Controlling, Accounting, FP&A, or related finance functions.
• •Experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis.
• •Strong understanding of P&L management, Balance Sheet analysis, and variance reporting.
• •Experience working within multinational and matrix organizations.
• •Knowledge of finance process management, process improvement methodologies, or business process management.
• •Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• •Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• •Demonstrates effective use of AI and digital tools to enhance problem-solving, decision-making, and productivity while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, energy, or similar sectors.
• •Exposure to ERP systems, planning tools, and financial reporting solutions such as SAP or equivalent platforms.
• •Understanding of process governance, standardization, and continuous improvement frameworks.
• •Experience collaborating with global and cross-functional teams.
• •Additional language capabilities beyond English are considered an advantage.
