The internship in short
- As an intern, you will join FX Solutions and Risk Advisory Sweden within FICC Markets. Our team provides tailored financial risk management advice to some of the bank’s largest and most complex corporate clients, with a focus on risks related to foreign exchange, interest rates and commodities.
- You will be involved in daily business activities and have a great opportunity to explore the banking environment. You will work alongside experienced colleagues and be guided by at least one tutor during the internship.
- The programme kicks off with an engaging Introduction Week, where you’ll get to know SEB, meet professionals across the CIB division, get to know other interns and start building your network. During the introduction you will participate in learning and networking activities. We wrap up the experience with a Closing Day to reflect on, share, and celebrate your internship journey.

FX Solutions and Risk Advisory Sweden
Movements in foreign exchange rates, interest rates and commodity prices can have a significant impact on companies’ earnings, cash flows, balance sheets and financial performance. FX Solutions and Risk Advisory Sweden works closely with corporate clients to understand these exposures and develop tailored financial risk management and hedging strategies.
As a Quantitative Analyst within Risk Advisory, you will support the development and application of quantitative models and analytical tools used to assess clients’ financial risks across FICC markets. You will have the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge to real business challenges and help translate complex financial data and quantitative analysis into clear, actionable advice.
The role combines quantitative analysis with commercial problem-solving. It offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of financial markets, develop your modelling and programming skills, and gain first-hand experience of how advanced analytics can support strategic client advisory.
What you will do
Quantitative analysis and model development: Analyse financial market data and develop, test and improve quantitative models and analytical tools used to quantify financial risks and evaluate risk management strategies.
Risk advisory: Support the development and evaluation of tailored risk management and hedging strategies across FICC markets.
Client material: Contribute to business cases, presentations and other advisory material that translate quantitative results into clear business insights.
Who are you?
We are looking for an ambitious and focused individual with a genuine interest in financial markets, quantitative analysis and corporate risk management. You combine strong analytical capabilities with business acumen and are motivated by using data and modelling to solve real-world problems.
You are curious, proactive and comfortable taking responsibility for your work. You pay close attention to detail, enjoy working collaboratively and can communicate complex findings in a clear and accessible way.
Qualifications
You are currently pursuing a master’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering and Management, Applied Mathematics, Finance or a related field.
You have a genuine interest in financial markets and corporate financial risk management.
You have experience with, or a strong interest in, programming, quantitative modelling and data analysis. Knowledge of Python is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience creating presentations are advantages.
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and can collaborate effectively with colleagues from different areas.
You are fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English.
Previous relevant work experience or extracurricular engagement, such as involvement in a student association, is considered an advantage.
