We are seeking a Cryogenics Engineer to test , validate, troubleshoot , and refine our products and the subsystems that comprise them . You will work alongside our R&D scientists, mechanical and electrical engineers, and manufacturing tea m to elevate our products , d rive customer success from installation through long-term operation , and delive r an exceptional customer experience .

What You'll Do

Test , Validat e, & Iterate

Develop Test Plans : B uild comprehensive experiments that push our products to the limit to ensure the highest quality standards — and to find ways for “ the best to perform even better. ”

Operate and T roubleshoot: Become the equivalent of a “test pilot” for the most advanced cryogenic systems in the world , with a heavy focus on evaluating the user experience and risks to uptime.

Drive Innovation : Work with our product and engineering teams to refine our platforms ’ designs based on your te sts and discoveries.

Support our Customer Success Team

Support Global Operations: Partner with our customers to root-cause and solve issues , allowing them to achieve the next breakthrough in quantum computing. Occasionally travel on site to assist when required .

Build our Customer Success Infrastructure: Document test, and inspection procedures to ensure a common standard across the company and the highest level of customer support .

Safety & Standards

Engineer for Safety: Apply pressure-safety, relief-sizing, and oxygen-deficiency hazard practices to systems that handle helium-3/helium-4 mixture, liquid nitrogen, and high vacuum.

Who You Are

Required:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering, physics, or an equivalent technical field.

3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, or operating cryogenic systems.

Strong grounding in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics at cryogenic temperatures, including low-temperature material properties.

Hands-on experience with high-vacuum systems and helium leak detection.

Experience safely handling cryogens such as liquid nitrogen and liquid helium.

Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or ANSYS.

Strong written and verbal communication skills .

Self-starter who can drive results independently in a fast-moving environment.

Able to work on-site in Denver, CO.

Preferred:

Experience designing, building, or significantly modifying dilution refrigerators or other sub-kelvin systems (ADRs, helium-3 systems).

Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.

Experience with helium-3/helium-4 gas-handling systems.

Experience with brazing, welding, indium seals, or other cryogenic joining and sealing methods.

Background in quantum computing, scientific instrumentation, or superconducting hardware.

Experience with pressure-system design under ASME or equivalent codes.

Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed startup.

What We Offer

Base Salary: $90,000 – $120,000/yr, depending on experience and qualifications, plus equity and performance bonus.
