With over 60 years of service to the community as the premier imaging center in Tallahassee, we continue to grow and thrive. We are seeking a CT Technologist to join our growing team. This is a full time, benefits eligible position. The would be a four 10s position, with four, 10 hour shifts from 9a-7p, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Rotating call, approximately every 2 months.

Rotating Saturdays, approximately every 3-4 months.

The salary range is $27-36 per hour with generous shift differential for hours after 6pm and Saturdays.

This position includes:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Know and understand how to work all aspects of CT scanners and PACS system.

Read patient history forms to determine exam protocol and contraindications and assure that radiologist has proper history to assist in making a diagnosis. Confirm that all paperwork has been properly filled out and signed.

Keep Medical Assistants informed of any changes in normal procedures and when running behind schedule.

Assist front desk personnel with scheduling and help answer questions and concerns they may have when necessary.

Assist Medical Assistants when necessary with patient prep and setup. Perform IV access on CT patients and assure that the informed consent form for IV contrast has been properly filled out and signed.

Organize CT patient workload.

Answer all questions and assist with concerns that the patient may have prior to, during, and/or after the CT scan.

Explain procedures to patients in a clear and precise manner to guarantee the understanding of the CT procedure that they are having performed.

Have ability to call and inform CT service department of problems and arrange service calls and preventative maintenance.

Accurately record patient information on CT ledger.

Monitor patient’s vital signs during scanning when necessary.

Assist in technical training of new CT technologists.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or equivalent.

Completion of accredited course in radiologic technology and maintain current Florida Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control Certification. Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Current certification in CT. Must maintain ongoing continuing education requirements.

Current CPR certification.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of CT scan policies and protocols.

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and clinical indications necessary to follow proper scanning protocols.

SKILLS:

Skill in production of quality CT scans.

Ability to effectively care for patients.

Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with interdepartmental personnel.
