CYS Training Specialist NF-04

Summary

This position is located at Fort Riley, Kansas. Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Duties

• •Ensure CDC, SAC, and Youth Services programs maintain high standards. Oversee classroom environments, equipment, scheduling, curriculum, inclusion, and safety protocols to minimize abuse risks.
• •Design and run classroom and hands-on training. Evaluate staff and provider progress quarterly. Develop parent education resources and advocate for proper development practices to parents and leadership.
• •Help secure and maintain DoD certification and national accreditation. Lead the training and program portions of inspections, analyze performance scores, and draft corrective plans with management.
• •Ensures accurate prompt customer service
• •Manages program to budget. Conducts written analyses of budget variances, and prepares justification for funding of program resource requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying).Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in child development (including directly related behavioral science), childhood education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled consistent with: For positions in CDC, FCC or CLEOS - Early Childhood Education, Child Development and/or Elementary Education. For positions in SAS - Early Childhood/Child Development; Youth Development; Elementary Education, and/or Secondary Education. OR Combination of education and experience as follows: Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in an appropriate CYS field commensurate with the program assigned as indicated above, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described in the fields appropriate to the position. Appropriate experience and course work must be comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above candidate must possess: 1. At least twelve (12) months experience working in child and youth programs. 2. At least one year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. 3. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. 4. Experience in planning and conducting training for child and youth staff.5. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": -24 months of Army CYS experience that includes 12 months experience designing, administrating, and conducting adult training. -Knowledge and experience with the National Associate for the Education of Young children (NAEYC) or Council on Accreditation (COA) process.
