Data Governance Foundation Lead Analyst

Role Overview

The Data Governance Foundation Lead Analyst is responsible for contributing to the directional strategy and assisting in the creation and modification of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy.

The focus of this role may be on one or more of the following areas: assisting in identification, measurement and reporting, data policy adoption and compliance, data controls framework performance and issue management, and regulatory and audit response and action tracking.

This role requires a flexible individual who can respond effectively to rapidly changing business needs. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to handle ambiguity and complexity, deliver across multiple responsibilities, and interface confidently with senior management. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are essential to guide, influence, and build consensus across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• •Partner with multiple teams to implement relevant Data Governance policies and/or Data Risk and Control frameworks
• •Support Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls framework including design, effectiveness, performance monitoring, and self-assessment processes
• •Leverage SQL and data querying techniques to extract, validate, and analyze data across enterprise systems, supporting data governance initiatives and compliance monitoring
• •Support the Enterprise Product Taxonomy Adoption Program including oversight and analysis of program issues, tracking of ownership and target dates, and associated metrics and reporting
• •Support and coordinate with business lines and global functions on enterprise Data Governance strategy rollout, including new Data Risk Taxonomy and associated changes to key risk indicators and control frameworks
• •Conduct structured data analysis across multiple systems and large datasets to identify trends, compliance gaps, and data quality issues; translate findings into actionable insights for senior stakeholders
• •Develop, maintain, and enhance KPIs and key risk indicators aligned to Data Governance and Data Risk and Controls principles, enabling proactive issue identification and performance tracking
• •Produce and deliver performance reports and dashboards that provide clear visibility into Data Governance program health, control effectiveness, and remediation progress
• •Gather and synthesize metrics on existing Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls principles, policies, practices, and standards, including benchmarking against industry best practices
• •Manage governance forums by collating materials, validating updates with appropriate owners, and presenting progress to stakeholders on a regular basis

Qualifications

• •4+ years relevant experience
• •3+ years Data & Querying: Proficiency in SQL for querying, manipulating, and validating large and complex datasets across multiple systems
• •3+ years of relevant experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Transformation, Data Process Engineering, or a related field
• •Analytics & Reporting:
• •Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful, actionable insights
• •Experience in performance reporting, including designing and delivering reports and dashboards for senior management and governance forums
• •Demonstrated ability in KPI development, including the design, calibration, and ongoing monitoring of key performance and risk indicators

Ability to design and provide business requirements to technology teams for the implementation of data quality rules

• •Previous experience in Banking, Corporate Finance, or Consulting
• •Proven ability to perform data analysis across multiple systems and large datasets to deliver insightful KPIs and drive remediation of compliance gaps
• •Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, adapt to unexpected requirement changes, and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders

Ability to communicate effectively and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to guide, influence, and build consensus across senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Education

Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
