• About the Role
• The Entry Level DDC Installation Technician is designed to introduce recent graduates and entry-level candidates to the fundamentals of building automation system (BAS) installation.

This is a hands-on field position working alongside experienced Installation Technicians and Team Leads. Technicians will learn how the physical components of a building automation system are installed, including control wiring, conduit, sensors, control panels, and other field devices.

This is intended to provide real-world experience while building the technical skills needed to grow within CMS Controls.

Key Responsibilities

• •Assist with the installation of control wiring, conduit, sensors, and other BAS field devices.
• •Work alongside experienced Installation Technicians and Team Leads on active construction projects.
• •Learn to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
• •Assist with mounting, wiring, and terminating building automation control panels.
• •Support the installation and wiring of temperature sensors, pressure sensors, actuators, controllers, and other field equipment.
• •Learn proper wire routing, termination, labeling, and installation practices.
• •Perform labeling and documentation of installed devices and wiring.
• •Assist with basic troubleshooting and verification of installed equipment.
• •Maintain organized and clean work areas.
• •Follow CMS Controls safety procedures and project-specific safety requirements.
• •Learn proper use and care of hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other installation equipment.
• •Communicate with Team Leads and other project team members regarding installation progress and field conditions.
• •Develop an understanding of building automation systems and how controls interact with HVAC and mechanical equipment.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• •Recent graduate, or entry-level candidate interested in Electrical, HVAC, Building Automation, Controls, Construction, or a related technical field.
• •No previous building automation experience required.
• •Mechanically inclined with an interest in hands-on technical work.
• •Basic understanding of electrical systems and electrical safety
• •Comfortable using basic hand tools and power tools.
• •Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• •Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• •Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• •Ability to follow instructions, drawings, and established installation standards.
• •Willingness to work in active construction environments and various jobsite conditions.
• •Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, contractors, and customers.
• •Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
• •Applicant must utilize their own tools

Physical Requirements

• •Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work from ladders.
• •Ability to work above ceilings and in mechanical rooms and other construction environments.
• •Ability to assist with loading, unloading, moving, and storing materials or equipment weighing up to 70 pounds when required.
• •Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required by project conditions.
