The role will require engagements with domestic and international standards-setting bodies and regulators to meet market needs for globally consistent and comparable sustainability disclosures and understand their regulatory approaches as they evolve, as well as to support effective implementation of MAS’ CIS regulatory regime.

[What you will be working on]

The candidate will join a team responsible for:

Regulation of sustainability disclosures by securities issuers and efforts to build up the broader sustainability reporting and assurance ecosystem, including that for ESG Rating and Data Providers and ESG funds; and

Regulation of offers of units in collective investment schemes (CIS), including real estate investment trusts (REITs), exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and unit trusts.

Key areas of work include:

Sustainability disclosure implementation and assurance – for listed companies and retail investment products, and contributing to global, regional and domestic efforts in standard-setting and development of best practices.

Other sustainability-related issues in the securities regulation space – these include guidelines, industry codes or frameworks, for instance the Code of Conduct for ESG Rating and Data Providers.

Collective investment schemes (CIS) regulation – administration of rules governing fund offers under the Securities and Futures Act and the Code on Collective Investment Schemes.

Accounting degree with accounting / audit work experience preferred.
