We are seeking a Development Engineer to join our Lloydminster Conventional team in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager, Development Engineering, this position will be responsible for supporting the evaluation, planning, and execution of development activities associated with the Conventional Heavy Oil assets. The role involves collaborating closely with Reservoir, Production, Facilities, Operations, and Commercial teams to evaluate development opportunities, optimize capital deployment, support reserves growth, and contribute to long-term development plans that maximize asset value and align with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• •Evaluate, prioritize and advance development opportunities to optimize capital deployment and maximize asset value.
• •Develop and maintain asset budgets, production forecasts, economic evaluations, and long-term development plans to support business planning.
• •Collaborate with a multi-discipline team to identify and evaluate opportunities to execute new development while supporting production and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
• •Lead reservoir management activities including recovery enhancement, waterflooding, pressure maintenance, type curve generation.
• •Monitor project and asset performance against forecasted and sanctioned expectations, identifying opportunities to improve value, mitigate risk, and enhance performance.

Lead drill readiness, working with key stakeholders for the selection, licensing, and scheduling of new wells

Participate in industry associations and technical societies to stay up to date on emerging technologies and best practices related to the development of conventional and EOR resources

Qualifications

• •Bachelor's degree in Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA or APEGS.
• •5+ years of relevant industry experience in development, reservoir, exploitation, production, or facilities engineering.
• •Demonstrated experience evaluating development opportunities through technical, operational, and economic analysis.
• •Strong understanding of oil and gas development, project and field economics, capital planning, and cash flow modeling.

Detailed understanding of geologic concepts in relation to Development and Reservoir Engineering.

• •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, software, and tools.
• •Excellent teamwork, collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
• •Proficiency with industry software such as Val Nav, GeoScout, Spotfire, Databricks, or equivalent applications.
• •Conventional Heavy Oil experience is considered an asset.
