Development Manager

At our Sandvik's Underground Drilling division, we are looking for a Development Manager to lead and drive the development of our product development and product line processes, and common ways of working. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we develop products, manage complexity, and collaborate across functions and divisions. The position is permanent and based in Tampere, Finland or in Lyon, France.

Your mission

As Development Manager, you will lead and drive initiatives that improve the effectiveness of our product development and product line processes, and cross-functional ways of working.

You will work closely with stakeholders across several functions to identify development needs, lead improvement initiatives, and ensure sustainable implementation of agreed development actions. This role combines strategic development work with hands-on execution. You will not only define improvement roadmaps but also actively contribute to implementing and embedding new ways of working.

Your main responsibilities

• •Lead process development initiatives within product development and product line
• •Lead selected cross-functional process development initiatives supporting division strategy
• •Facilitate the identification, prioritization, and implementation of process improvements
• •Develop, train, and promote common practices, and standardized ways of working
• •Lead and coordinate the overall development initiative portfolio, ensuring effective communication, alignment, and progress visibility across functions
• •Lead change management and culture development activities supporting the adoption of common practices and improved ways of working
• •Monitor progress and ensure achieved improvements deliver expected business value
• •Contribute hands-on to development activities, analyses, and implementation work
• •Define and measure Performance Excellence KPIs to support prioritization, decision-making, and ensure improvement actions deliver intended results

What we're looking for

We are looking for an experienced development professional with a strong track record in driving organizational or process improvements in a complex business environment.

• •Strong project and change leadership capabilities
• •Strong and inclusive stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills
• •A curious mindset with the ability to constructively challenge established practices and facilitate the exploration of new approaches
• •A structured and analytical way of working combined with a pragmatic hands-on attitude
• •Experience in process development or business transformation
• •Relevant university degree or equivalent experience
• •Fluent English skills
• •Willingness to travel occasionally
