The Direct Support Professional 2 provides individualized support, training, and oversight to individuals receiving Individualized Supported Living (ISL) services. This role assists individuals with daily living skills, community integration, personal goals, independence development, safety, and overall quality of life. Services may include personal assistance, independent skill development, and community integration activities tailored to each individual's needs and support plan.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and increasing independence at home and within the community

· Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, household tasks, recreation, community participation, and appointments as outlined in their support plans

· Teach and reinforce independent living skills including personal hygiene, money management, meal preparation, medication management, safety, and wellness practices

· Accompany individuals to community activities, appointments, religious services, and other meaningful events

· Implement individualized support plans and safety plans while providing quality, person-centered services

· Document progress toward goals and maintain accurate daily service records and residential notes

· Manage client funds appropriately by maintaining receipts and completing required ledger documentation

· Conduct and participate in safety drills and emergency preparedness activities as required

· Complete required reports and documentation in accordance with state guidelines and agency requirements

· Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities

· Maintain required certifications and perform additional duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required

· One year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred

· In lieu of experience, successful completion of Missouri Quality Outcomes training approved by the Division of Developmental Disabilities regional office

· Knowledge of service delivery practices supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

· Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Qualifications:

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required

· Successful completion of background screenings including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks

· Must maintain current CPR and Standard First Aid certification

· Must maintain Med Aide certification if administering medications

· Must complete competency-based Community Services orientation training

· Ability to interact effectively with individuals served, families, team members, and community partners

· Reliable means of communication required

· Ability to read, understand, and accurately complete written documentation

· Reliable attendance and punctuality required

· If transporting individuals, vehicle must have a functioning air conditioner and heater

Physical Requirements

· Perform sedentary work involving exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally

· Frequently use hands, fingers, and arms for typing, writing, and documentation activities

· Sit for extended periods while completing required documentation and administrative tasks

· Occasionally stand and walk while providing services in homes and community settings

· Safely assist with daily activities and transportation needs as required

· Communicate effectively with individuals served, families, and team members
