Scopely is looking for a Director of Live Roadmap & Release Operations to join our MONOPOLY GO! game team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis.

MONOPOLY GO! is a global phenomenon and the biggest mobile game launch in history, captivating millions of players worldwide.

At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play every day—whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues or through our deep connections with our communities. We are a global team of game lovers developing, publishing, and innovating across the games industry, connecting millions of players around the world every day.

About the Role

As Director of Live Roadmap & Release Operations , you will own the operational health, integrity, and readiness of MONOPOLY GO!’s live roadmap and release ecosystem.

You will lead the systems, processes, and operating rhythms that turn product, content, events, promotions, tooling, and technical initiatives into coordinated and reliable live releases. This includes roadmap governance, dependency management, release readiness, risk assessment, deployment coordination, operational tooling, incident response, and post-release validation.

This role sits at the intersection of Production, Live Operations, Product, Engineering, and QA . We are looking for someone who combines strong operational leadership with enough technical depth to work credibly with Engineering teams and improve the systems behind live delivery.

The background could come from Live Operations, Production, Release Management, Technical Production, or Engineering Management . What matters most is demonstrated experience operating close to live releases and production environments, coordinating complex cross-functional delivery, and improving the processes and technical systems that support execution at scale.

You should be equally comfortable shaping long-term operating strategy, working through a complex dependency or release plan with delivery teams, partnering with engineers on tooling and automation, or stepping into a critical launch or incident to help drive resolution.

What You'll Do

Own the operating health of the live roadmap, ensuring priorities, sequencing, dependencies, capacity, and release plans are realistic and executable

Establish and evolve the end-to-end operating model for taking work from roadmap definition through development, validation, approval, deployment, monitoring, and post-release review

Lead release governance and readiness, including risk-based gates, clear ownership, go/no-go processes, escalation paths, rollback planning, and post-release validation

Coordinate complex, high-frequency live releases across Product, Engineering, Live Operations, Production, QA, Content, and other partner teams

Identify roadmap, technical, operational, and dependency risks early and drive clear mitigation and decision-making

Partner closely with Engineering to improve deployment pipelines, configuration workflows, validation systems, observability, dashboards, automation, and operational tooling

Translate operational needs into clear technical requirements and help prioritize tooling and platform improvements that reduce manual work and release risk

Establish metrics and reporting that provide visibility into roadmap health, release readiness, throughput, incidents, rework, operational load, and time to resolution

Improve production and release workflows by removing unnecessary handoffs, clarifying ownership, increasing automation, and creating sustainable operating standards

Step into critical launches, incidents, or escalations when cross-functional coordination and rapid decision-making are required

Lead operational change across teams, helping new processes, tooling, and ways of working become embedded rather than simply introduced

Build trusted partnerships across senior Product, Engineering, Production, QA, Data, and Live Operations leadership

Mentor Producers, Release Managers, Engineering Managers, or other operational leaders involved in the live delivery ecosystem

What We're Looking For

Significant experience leading complex live operations, release management, technical production, engineering delivery, or a closely related function within a live-service environment

Demonstrated experience owning or influencing high-frequency releases across multiple teams, systems, dependencies, and concurrent workstreams

Strong operational judgment, with experience balancing delivery speed, technical risk, player experience, business priorities, and sustainable team execution

Technical fluency in software delivery and production environments, including deployment workflows, configuration management, validation, monitoring, rollback, and incident response

Experience partnering closely with Engineering teams on release tooling, automation, production systems, or workflow improvements

Strong understanding of roadmap planning, dependency management, release readiness, risk management, and operational governance

Experience improving operating models, processes, tooling, or organizational ways of working across multiple teams

Ability to move comfortably between strategic planning and detailed execution, remaining close enough to delivery to identify issues and unblock teams

Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership, including the ability to align teams with different priorities without relying on direct authority

Experience leading teams or developing leaders within Production, Live Operations, Release Management, Engineering, or adjacent functions

Clear communication of technical, operational, and delivery risks to both technical and non-technical audiences

AI Capability & Readiness

We believe AI can meaningfully transform how Live Operations and release organizations execute at scale. In this role, you’ll be expected to actively leverage AI-enabled tools to improve roadmap analysis, dependency mapping, release readiness, documentation, risk identification, incident response, production analytics, decision support, and workflow automation.

We value leaders who experiment thoughtfully with emerging AI technologies to reduce operational overhead, improve visibility and decision-making, increase release quality, and help teams move faster while maintaining strong standards of safety, accountability, and execution.

Bonus Points

Experience operating a large-scale mobile free-to-play or other high-frequency live-service product

Experience as an Engineering Manager with meaningful ownership of production delivery, releases, incidents, or Live Operations

Experience as a Technical Producer, Production Director, Release Director, Game Operations leader, or equivalent

Experience designing or operating release trains, deployment pipelines, feature-flag systems, configuration platforms, or production-control frameworks

Experience with GameOps, LiveOps, developer productivity, release engineering, SRE, platform engineering, or adjacent technical operations functions

Experience building operational dashboards and release-health metrics

Experience introducing automated validation, change controls, release tooling, or post-deployment monitoring

Experience leading globally distributed teams across multiple time zones
