Job Description:

• Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards. Posting Specifics
• Pay Rate: Based on Experience
• Shift Details: PRN position (0-40 hrs/wk) Primarily Afternoon availability needed for this position (3:30pm - 9:30pm), Including Weekends.
• Will help cover vacant shifts as needed within the department.
• MUST be available to work 2-3 Afternoon / Evening shifts per week.

• Located at Intermountain Medical Center Culinary Services
• Additional Details: This role involves dishwashing duties. Requires working around water and standard dishwashing chemicals.
• Candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration abilities, working effectively with diverse teams to achieve department objectives.

Qualifications

Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).

Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions

Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

Essential Functions

• •Cleans and sanitizes dishes
• •Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
• •Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
• •Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• •Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
• •Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.

Physical Requirements

• •Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• •Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• •Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• •Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• •Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• •Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
