The Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC) is a dynamic young research center with the ambition to become an international leader in Science of Learning in Education. Hosted at the National Institute of Education (NIE), SoLEC advances cutting- edge research by integrating insights from neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, physiology, education, technology and AI in Education.

We especially encourage applications from scholars and researchers with expertise at the intersection of cognitive science, psychology, statistics and data analytics.

Requirements

• •PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. Cognitive Science, Psychology, Statistics, Data Analytics or a closely related field)
• •Up to 2 years of post-PhD experience
• •Ability to lead and collaborate within research teams
• •Strong track record in the following are as:

- Publishing in high quality, peer-reviewed journals

- Securing competitive, peer-reviewed research funding

- Conducting independent, innovative research

- Applying appropriate data analytics and research methods to learning and educational data

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (spoken and written English)

Responsibilities

• •Design and implement SoLEC’s research programmes in collaboration with colleagues
• •Lead the development of research projects and secure external funding opportu-nities
• •Publish internationally in peer-reviewed journals and disseminate impactful findings
• •Translate research into practice and policy impact within education systems
• •Manage administrative and programme‑related tasks to ensure smooth operations
• •Contribute to strategic research initiatives of SoLEC, OfR and NIE
• •Participate actively in the wider research and service community of NIE
