We are actively looking for new talent to join our Manufacturing team at our site based near Stamford, UK site as an Electrical Controls Apprentice . We’ll support you to complete a four-year Level 3 apprenticeship in Electrical Fitting. We’ll work with you to train and support you through your journey so that you will be able to complete the necessary requirements of the role.

Key responsibilities:

Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel drawings.

Build electrical control panels, distribution boards and MCC/control cabinets.

Mount components such as:

MCBs, MCCBs and contactors

Relays and timers

Terminal blocks

PLCs and I/O modules

Power supplies and transformers

VFDs/inverters

Control switches, meters and indicators

Cut, drill and modify panel enclosures.

Install trunking, DIN rail, terminals and internal components.

Panel wiring using ferrules, crimping and correct cable identification.

Cable termination and glanding.

Continuity, insulation resistance and functional testing.

Fault finding and rectification.

Pre-delivery inspection and testing of completed panels.

Assist with commissioning on site.

Follow electrical drawings, manufacturer instructions and relevant UK regulations.

Maintain good electrical, health and safety standards at all times.

Requirements:

Ideally aged age 18 (due to insurance requirements) with a minimum of four GCSE passes including Maths, English and Science.

You will have a genuine interest in the practical side of engineering, or hands-on activities (enjoy figuring things out, how things work, making things).

You will be able to show initiative, be adaptable, and eager to learn.

You must have a full valid UK driving licence, and live within 45 minutes of our Stamford, UK site.

Must be willing to travel to Leicester once a week for a 42-month period for day release apprenticeship training (Engineering Metal Fabricator Advanced Apprenticeship) (Cost of travel will be reimbursed).

This is a permanent position, offering continued employment at the end of the successful completion of apprenticeship training.
