Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and modify the standard designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction, using standard design concepts. Each day, you will design engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to contract specifications. You will also showcase your expertise by contributing to design reviews and design verification and modifying the design, as necessary.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Services Business in Malaysia.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• •Designing engineering solutions for MV/LV electrification projects, including preparation of drawings, calculations, and technical documentation in accordance with contractual specifications, applicable standards, and company design practices.
• •Creating, reviewing and maintaining engineering drawings, specifications, Bills of Materials (BOM) and project deliverables required for manufacturing, fabrication, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• •Contributing to design reviews, design verification activities and technical evaluations, implementing design modifications where required to ensure compliance with customer requirements, safety standards, quality expectations and project objectives.
• •Preparing and delivering assigned design activities to meet contractual obligations, while ensuring adherence to relevant engineering standards, safety, cybersecurity, quality requirements and project schedules.
• •Coordinating closely with manufacturing, testing, procurement and project teams to ensure designs are successfully manufactured, staged, tested and updated into as-built documentation, while minimizing project Left-Over Material (LOM).
• •Participating in customer, project and internal engineering meetings, presenting technical solutions and design progress, and supporting project execution through effective stakeholder collaboration.
• •Driving technical excellence through knowledge sharing, contributing to engineering workshops, promoting best practices, documenting lessons learned and supporting the continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes and reusable technical solutions.

Qualifications for the role

• •Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience in MV/LV electrical engineering, electrification, or power distribution projects.
• •Experience in electrical design, including drawings, calculations, specifications and design verification.
• •Knowledge of relevant electrical standards, safety, quality and cybersecurity requirements.
• •Strong problem-solving, planning and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple project deliverables.
• •Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and work across functions.
• •Proactive mindset with a commitment to technical excellence, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• •Preferred: Experience with switchgear, relay, substations, power distribution systems and IEC standards.
