ELECTRICAL SHOP SPECIALIST (SUBSAFE)

Summary

You will serve as an Electrical Shop Specialist (SUBSAFE) in the Electrical Division (Code 950), Production Resources Department, of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

• •You will serve as a SUBSAFE subject matter expert for the Electrical Division.
• •You will develop, review and improve work methods, procedures and task assignments.
• •You will investigate equipment and systems and consult manufacturers’ representatives and mechanics to collect information not readily available.
• •You will hold meetings to inform personnel of changes in procedures, policies, or plans and ensure uniform application and interpretation.
• •You will provide training feedback and review training materials to ensure the Shipyard maintains sufficient qualified and certified personnel for the Electrical Division.
• •You will serve as a consultant to task groups that create, review, and modify SUBSAFE policies, procedures, and goals.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing technical work involving the planning, coordination, evaluation, oversight, or execution of electrical/electronic maintenance, repair, testing, installation, and modernization work on complex naval or industrial systems. Examples of qualifying experience: Independently applying knowledge of electrical/electronic theory; shipboard or industrial electrical/electronic systems; control systems; cable systems; instrumentation; electrical/electronic testing; technical work documentation; quality assurance; configuration management; and applicable safety requirements. The work includes reviewing and evaluating work packages, technical manuals, drawings, wiring diagrams, test procedures, inspection records, maintenance records, material requests, engineering changes, and corrective-action documentation.
