Genesee Lake School is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join their team in Oconomowoc!

What You’ll Do:

• •Empower & Educate: Design and deliver creative, student-centered lessons using thematic units that build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of self-worth.
• •Lead the IEP Process: Serve as Case Manager for your caseload, facilitating IEP meetings and tracking growth through regular progress reporting.
• •Guide & Mentor Support Staff: Lead and direct your classroom support team—including Instructional Aides and Educational/Direct Support Professionals (ESPs/DSPs)—to create a unified learning environment.
• •Collaborate for Student Success: Partner closely with clinical, behavioral, and interdisciplinary teams to implement Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• •Adapt & Innovate: Stay flexible in adapting teaching strategies to meet evolving student needs using supportive, agency-approved care and intervention techniques

What We’re Looking For:

• •Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary/Secondary Education, Human Services, or a related field (or anticipated graduation date).
• •Certification: State Teaching Certification in Special Education (or eligible for alternative/provisional licensure).
• •Skills: Strong communication, empathy, team leadership, and a commitment to trauma-informed, student-centered care.
• •Mindset: Growth-oriented, adaptable, and eager to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
