The Opportunity

At Allegro MicroSystems, we are committed to "Innovation with Purpose," delivering world-class power and sensing solutions that drive e-mobility, clean energy, and automation forward. As an Engineer, Failure Analysis, you will launch your professional journey in semiconductor quality and reliability engineering. Working under direct supervision, you will play a hands-on role in evaluating device integrity, supporting customer quality investigations, and upholding our global Quality Management System (QMS). This position provides a strong, practical foundation across core quality methodologies, offering direct exposure to the systems that ensure Allegro products meet the highest industry reliability standards.

What You Will Do

  • Customer Return Verification: Assist in the analysis of customer returns (RMA) by conducting initial electrical verification and benchmark testing to confirm and document reported failure modes.
  • Reliability Stress Testing: Support the execution of critical product reliability tests (e.g., HTOL, HAST, environmental stress) by preparing device samples, monitoring chambers, and collecting test data.
  • Data Compilation & Reporting: Gather, compile, and analyze empirical data for comprehensive quality reports, tracking reliability performance, internal audit findings, and key customer quality metrics.
  • QMS Documentation & Compliance: Assist in authoring, updating, and maintaining engineering specifications and procedures within our Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure audit readiness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Quality, Reliability, Failure Analysis, and Product Engineering teams to support root-cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Bring

  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline (entry-level role; no prior professional experience required).
  • Technical Basics: Fundamental understanding of electronic circuits, semiconductor principles, and a strong interest in semiconductor quality and reliability.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong data collection and analytical problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Software & Data Tools: Proficiency with standard office productivity tools, especially Microsoft Excel for data organization, basic statistical evaluation, and charting.
  • Communication & Drive: Good verbal and written communication skills, with an eagerness to learn under the mentorship of senior engineers in a dynamic manufacturing setup.
