📘 What You'll Be Studying: Mechatronics Maintenance Technician (Level 3)

Are you passionate about engineering and eager to learn hands-on mechanical skills? We’re looking for a motivated Engineering Apprentice to join our team and begin an exciting journey toward becoming a skilled Maintenance Engineer.

About the Role

As an Engineering Apprentice, you’ll undertake a structured training programme combining academic study with practical, on-the-job experience. Under the guidance of an experienced Mentor, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge needed to support our engineering department and grow into a future leader in maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• •Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and pipes
• •Perform preventative maintenance tasks
• •Complete checklists and maintenance records
• •Learn and assist with more complex mechanical tasks
• •Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• •Use hand and power tools (e.g., wrenches, drills, grinders) and test equipment
• •Understand engineering science and technology principles
• •Prioritise safety and identify workplace hazards
• •Use basic computer software (Word, Excel)
• •Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• •GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) or A Levels
• •Basic computer literacy )
• •Interest in manufacturing and maintenance

Desirable:

Exposure to mechanical or engineering environments

Your Apprenticeship Journey

• •Year 1: 2 days per week at Cambridge Regional College, 3 days per week on-site in Huntingdon
• •Years 2 & 3: 1 day per week at college, 4 days per week on-site
