Hello. We’re Teya.

Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.

They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.

Teya exists to change that.

We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.

We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.

If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you

As an Engineering Manager for the team at Teya, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the systems that power how we onboard and verify customers across Europe. You’ll lead a team of backend engineers.

You’ll be working on high-impact features that enable seamless yet compliant onboarding experiences. This role blends hands-on technical guidance with strong people leadership. You’ll help your team navigate complex engineering challenges, mentor them through their career growth, and foster a culture of technical excellence. You’ll also partner closely with stakeholders in product, compliance, and engineering to deliver features that strike the right balance between security, usability, and automation.

We’re looking for someone curious, thoughtful, and pragmatic - someone who’s excited to solve hard problems in the world of Fintech compliance and passionate about building systems that scale with speed and accuracy.

Manage team performance, development, and career growth through regular feedback, coaching, and structured reviews

Own team delivery, system reliability, and continuous improvement of development processes

Contribute to roadmap definition

Mentor engineers on advanced technical and architectural decisions, empowering them to solve complex challenges independently

Your Story

1–3 years of experience managing engineers, including performance and career development

5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally in backend systems with Java, Kotlin, or similar technologies

Experience in systems design, especially in high-throughput, secure, or regulated environments

Familiarity with automation-first development principles and reducing manual, error-prone processes

Strong communication skills, able to articulate technical trade-offs to diverse audiences

Comfortable with Agile development methodologies and managing delivery in fast-paced, high-stakes environments

A pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset with a bias for action and ownership

The Perks

We trust you, so we offer flexible working hours, as long it suits both you and your team

Private Health Insurance
