ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Summary

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering Department of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA, Rota, Spain.

Duties

• •You will prepare and negotiate schedule requests with availability scheduling elements.
• •You will manage military personnel, government engineers and technicians, contractors, local nationals, data entry personnel, and logisticians in support of program visits and events.
• •You will utilize the Maintenance Data Systems to plan, execute, and complete assessments.
• •You will identify the appropriate assessment procedures.
• •You will assist in compiling and establishment of the full assessment team.
• •You will provide oversight of the visit to ensure distribution and balance of the workload among the team members and Ship's Force representatives.
• •You will conduct a formal debrief with the ship, command leadership and stakeholders utilizing professional briefing methods.
• •You will provide support for managing and compiling results of the assessment visit or event.
• •You will recommend corrective action for deficiencies discovered during the assessment visits.
• •You will represent the command at meetings and conferences.
• •You will inspect in-process work on ships, which involves climbing, bending, stooping, and crawling.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying concepts, practices, and techniques of electrical, electronics, and mechanical engineering disciplines for the repair and overhaul of shipboard systems; and 2) Applying project management principles and assigned programs to permit rapid analysis, work integration, and resolution and atypical problems; and 3) Identifying the material condition of the ship's engineering plant, auxiliaries, electronics and combat systems. You will be required to perform the duties at a variety of job sites within the commuting area and it is their responsibility to transport between job sites with the reimbursement of costs in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations.
