About the Position: This position is located at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Camp Pendleton, CA. Biomedical Engineering (BIOMED) Certification is preferred. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

• •Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs state-of-the-art biomedical equipment.
• •Plans, develops, and implements an effective Quality Management Program (QMP) which involves the quality assurance in the acquisition, incoming inspection, acceptance, maintenance, and eventual retirement and disposal of biomedical/medical equipment.
• •Implements and maintains the internal annual audit plan for the hospital.
• •Schedules, coordinates, and/or performs audits with clinics and/or ISO registrar.
• •Performs special studies to collect, analyze, interpret information and develop recommendations to resolve deficiencies.
• •Conducts investigations, evaluates, interprets, and collects information to identify trends.
• •Serves at meetings on various patient safety, risk management, and quality assurance committees
• •Reviews and prepares written reports on the property book concerning listing accuracy and completeness of all data fields.

Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Experience identifying and repairing medical equipment, (2) Experience performing medical equipment preventative maintenance and calibration, and (3) Experience planning and assigning work based on priority, available resources, and staff capabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.ORCombination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
