We are seeking an experienced Executive Communications Lead to own Fervo's executive communications and engagement internally and externally — in writing, on stage, and in the room. This role shapes and protects the executive voice across speeches, keynotes, and high-visibility appearances as Fervo scales as a newly public company.

The Executive Communications Lead is responsible for all internal and external communication that carries an executive's name or voice — speeches, keynote remarks, talking points, and the presentations that support them. This individual will develop a conference engagement strategy to determine which conferences and speaking engagements Fervo employees should attend and speak at. You will also make sure that person walks on stage fully prepared with a clear message and a polished deck.

This is a high-trust, high-visibility role. The right candidate can translate a technical, first-of-its-kind energy story into a compelling narrative for investors, policymakers, media, and industry audiences, while working directly and confidentially with Fervo's most senior leaders under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Speechwriting & Executive Voice

• •Write speeches, keynote remarks, talking points, and prepared statements for Fervo's CEO and executive team
• •Own and protect a consistent executive voice and narrative across every external communication
• •Partner directly with executives to translate their intent and expertise into clear, compelling remarks

Conference Strategy & Representation

• •Build and maintain Fervo's conference and speaking-engagement calendar.
• •Review incoming opportunities and proactively seek new opportunities to determine which conferences and external events warrant Fervo's participation and at what level.
• •Work with conference organizers to secure speaking opportunities and manage associated logistics.
• •Prepare speakers ahead of each engagement, including message alignment, logistics, and rehearsal

Presentation & Materials Development

• •Build and design the slide decks used for conference keynotes and executive speaking engagements
• •Ensure all external-facing presentation materials are polished, on-brand, and aligned with Fervo's current narrative.
• •Write speeches and build out-of-the-box content to showcase Fervo’s groundbreaking technology and leading market position.
• •Manage version control and rapid turnaround on decks as messaging or events evolve

External Executive Communications Ownership

• •Serve as the single point of ownership for executive-level external communications, coordinating closely with Legal, Investor Relations, and Media Relations to keep messaging consistent
• •Advise executives on communications strategy and positioning for high-stakes external moments

Qualifications

Required

• •7+ years of experience in executive communications, speechwriting, or corporate communications
• •Proven track record working with and writing for C-suite or senior executives in a high-visibility environment
• •Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice to different executives and audiences
• •Experience building and refining executive-level presentations (PowerPoint, Keynote, or similar)
• •Strong project management skills, able to coordinate multiple executives, events, and deadlines simultaneously
• •Sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive, confidential, or market-moving information
• •Must have a sense of humor and not take themselves too seriously
• •Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field

Preferred

• •Experience in energy, climate tech, or another technical industry translating complex topics for broad audiences
• •Experience supporting communications at a newly public company
• •Experience coaching executives on public speaking and stage presence

Location

Fervo Energy is headquartered in Houston, TX, with growing offices in Golden, CO, Reno, NV, Oakland, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT. This position is eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence at the Houston office is required. Frequent travel is required for this position to support conferences and executive speaking engagements.
