Position Overview

AttoTude is seeking a hands-on Fabrication Technician to support the development and execution of micro- and nanofabrication processes for our core technology. This role is based in the Berkeley Nanolab and works closely with AttoTude engineers and researchers to fabricate, iterate, and characterize devices in a fast-moving R&D environment.

This position is well-suited for either:

An experienced fabrication technician who enjoys executing and improving process flows

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and excited to work on cutting-edge fabrication challenges in a shared-user cleanroom.

Key Responsibilities

• •Execute micro- and nanofabrication process flows in the Berkeley Nanolab cleanroom
• •Operate fabrication equipment including:

Photolithography tools (spin coaters, mask aligners, developers)

Dry and wet etching tools (RIE, DRIE, wet etch)

Thin film deposition systems (evaporation, sputtering, PECVD)

Metrology and inspection tools (optical microscopy, profilometry, ellipsometry, SEM)

Support process development, optimization, and repeatability for AttoTude devices

Maintain detailed fabrication logs, travelers, and process documentation

Follow all Berkeley Nanolab safety, chemical handling, and cleanroom protocols

Contribute to continuous improvement of AttoTude fabrication workflows

• Required Qualifications
• •Prior experience working in a micro- or nanofabrication cleanroom (academic, industrial, or internship experience acceptable)
• •Familiarity with semiconductor, MEMS, or nanofabrication processes
• •Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and refine complex process flows
• •Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• •Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small technical team

Preferred Qualifications

• •2–10+ years of hands-on cleanroom fabrication experience
• •Experience in a shared-user academic or national lab facility
• •Interest in growing into a process or device engineering role
• •Comfortable working in a startup or fast-paced R&D environment

Annual Salary Range

$90,000 — $150,000 USD
