Assurance Associate

Position Summary

As an Assurance Associate, you will support the delivery of Assurance services by executing assigned work, applying established methods, and producing accurate and timely results with appropriate guidance. Your work will contribute directly to the effectiveness of the team and the quality of the services or support provided to stakeholders.

Through hands-on client experience, structured learning, coaching, and feedback, you'll build greater independence and strengthen the technical, technology, communication, and client service skills needed to advance your career. You'll work with colleagues across the firm, gain exposure to a range of clients, and contribute to a collaborative environment that values curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Support audit and assurance engagements while developing an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, financial reporting processes, and assurance needs.

Perform audit procedures, including gathering and analyzing financial information, substantive testing and control testing.

Prepare clear workpapers documenting procedures, evidence, results, and conclusions in accordance with firm methodologies and professional standards.

Use firm-approved audit, data analysis, workflow, and collaboration technologies to complete assigned work.

Collaborate with engagement team members and clients to obtain information, resolve routine questions, and maintain well-supported documentation.

Complete assigned work accurately and on time, communicating progress, questions, and potential issues promptly.

Apply coaching and feedback to strengthen technical knowledge, professional judgment, business acumen, and work quality.

Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, initiative, curiosity, and a commitment to quality and exceptional client service.

Maintain the confidentiality of client and firm information and exercise sound professional judgment in accordance with firm policies and professional standards.

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business discipline from an accredited institution.

Must meet educational requirements to obtain CPA license upon hire in state of employment or a state with reciprocity.

Experience

No prior professional experience is required. Previous internship, academic, leadership, volunteer, customer service, or other relevant experience is preferred. This role is designed for candidates with 0–1 year of relevant experience.

Certifications / Licensure

Required:

Eligibility to pursue, or demonstrated progress toward eligibility for, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge & Technical Skills

Foundational accounting knowledge relevant to assigned work with appropriate supervision and review.

Ability to apply academic concepts, ask thoughtful questions, and use feedback to improve performance.

Curiosity, openness and experience with emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, and the ability to use them responsibly to support learning, efficiency, and problem solving.

Ability to conduct research, analyze information, and document findings clearly and accurately, and escalate questions appropriately.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
