Job Description

Core Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing a territory based in Auckland, driving sales growth through customer relationship management, business development and commercial execution while working collaboratively with the wider Field Sales, Account Management, Marketing and Operations teams to maximise consumer sales.
Customer Management & Business Relationships (Approximately 60%)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across LEGO NZ to achieve territory and business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with independent retailers, store managers and key contacts within major accounts.
- Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews and commercial discussions to drive sales growth.
- Sell-in product launches, promotional activities, seasonal opportunities and replenishment programs.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned to LEGO NZ growth objectives.
- Influence customers through effective negotiation and relationship management to maximize LEGO visibility and sales.
- Support key account initiatives in partnership with Account Managers.
- Analyze customer performance and identify opportunities to improve sales and profitability.
- Coordinate customer visits, market reviews and business presentations.
- Deliver professional presentations, recommendations and sales proposals to customers and internal stakeholders.
Merchandising & Brand Execution (Approximately 25%)
- Ensure nationally agreed retail, marketing and promotional activities are executed to LEGO standards.
- Support merchandising execution across assigned accounts to maintain strong brand presentation and shopper engagement.
- Partner with third-party merchandising agencies to ensure effective and consistent in-store execution.
- Conduct store audits and identify opportunities to improve product visibility and brand presence.
- Support new store openings, LEGO installations and key seasonal activations
- Provide feedback to internal teams and merchandising partners regarding execution quality and opportunities for improvement.
- Apply commercial merchandising principles to help ensure the right products are available and visible at the right time.
- Support retailer education and awareness of LEGO products, promotions and brand priorities.
Business Planning & Insights (Approximately 15%)
- Demonstrate a strong level of business acumen through effective territory planning and execution.
- Develop and maintain customer growth plans aligned with LEGO NZ priorities.
- Utilise Aforza and other business tools to maintain accurate customer records, reporting and call planning.
- Prepare sales forecasts, business reviews and territory performance updates.
- Identify opportunities through analysis of sales data, customer trends and market insights.
- Present retailer, competitor and market information to key stakeholders across Sales, Marketing and Operations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of LEGO priorities, KPIs and go-to-market strategies.

Play your part in our team succeeding
As part of the LEGO NZ Sales team, you will play a key role in driving growth within your assigned territory through customer relationship management, business development and commercial execution. Working closely with customers, Account Managers, Marketing and Operations teams, you will identify opportunities to grow sales, strengthen customer partnerships and maximise the LEGO brand presence at retail.
While customer engagement and sales growth are the primary focus of the role, you will also support high-quality merchandising execution to ensure LEGO products are presented to the highest standards in store.
Do you have what it takes?
- Experience within consumer goods, FMCG, retail, toy, or related industries.
- Previous territory management, account management, or business development experience.
- Experience presenting business recommendations and influencing customer decisions.
- Experience using CRM, sales reporting, or business planning tools (e.g. Aforza, Power BI, Salesforce).
- Demonstrated ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial recommendations.
- Experience working across diverse teams, cultures, or customer groups.
- Demonstrated learning agility, curiosity, and ambition to grow within a global organization.
- A valid New Zealand driver's license is required. Regular travel within the assigned territory is an essential requirement of the role.
Domestic travel may be required, with up to 40 nights away from home annually. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required during key commercial periods, customer events, product launches, and seasonal activations.
This is a customer-facing role requiring regular travel for customer meetings, business reviews, sales presentations, and retail visits across the assigned territory.
While merchandising and retail execution remain an important component of the role, the primary focus is on driving sales growth, developing customer partnerships, and identifying new business opportunities. Occasional physical activity may be required, including handling LEGO cartons (up to 15kg), setting up displays, climbing ladders, and working within retail environments.
