What You'll Do

YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women. Serving communities across King and Snohomish counties, the organization provides a range of services focused on housing stability, economic advancement, and gender-based violence support, with a strong emphasis on advancing economic empowerment as a pathway to long-term stability and well-being.

This is a temporary, full-time position for approximately four months, beginning October 1, 2026.

The Economic Resilience Initiative (ERI) is a dynamic team focused on serving people who are furthest from opportunity by building financial security for women and families. ERI provides a combination of financial education classes (including “Hope and Power” and “Money Mechanics”), one-on-one financial coaching, financial incentives tied to goal achievement, and community-based workshops delivered in partnership with other service providers. Programming is designed to help participants build practical financial skills, increase confidence, and make progress toward individualized financial goals in a supportive, culturally responsive environment.

The Financial Empowerment Coach and Instructor provides individualized financial coaching and facilitates financial education classes for community members, with the goal of improving money management skills and increasing confidence in meeting financial goals. This position supports participants in strengthening financial knowledge, building practical skills, and connecting to broader economic empowerment resources. The role also requires critical thinking about how external systems impact participants, grounded in an anti-racist framework and an understanding of the intersections of race, poverty, and access to opportunity.
