Summary
The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in Cash Management, Accounting Operations, Office of Finance and Accounting (OF&A), Under Secretary for Finance and Administration.
Duties
This position is located in Cash Management, Accounting Operations, Office of Finance and Accounting (OF&A), Under Secretary for Finance and Administration. This position produces and analyzes financial data. In this position, you will: Prepare financial forecasts for use in unit budgeting and production of cash management report(s) as well as various reports using automated financial systems. Analyze and interpret financial data to identify continual and short-term changes in the program requirements and recommend corrective and responsive actions to use as well as analysis of various financial partners' cost/fee structures, contracts and revenue streams. Identify, track and correct incomplete, unreliable and conflicting data that impact assigned segments of reports or projects, including open related issues such as FSS/CMM, ERP financial disbursements (IPAC, Debit Cards, BOA, & WU), pay cycles (treasury or bank and AR billing tasks) and associated cash adjustments needed to balance assigned accounts. Troubleshoot problems, perform accounts examinations to include review of SI-7002 Ledger Activity PD Version: v.1.0, 11/24/2024 Last Modified: v.1.0, 11/24/2024 Report, non-cash GL account 1199, 1121 Debit Card account, etc. and resolve problematic areas within assigned areas.
Qualifications
For the GS-9, you qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as financial management work involving the review, analysis, reconciliation, monitoring, or resolution of financial transactions, accounts, payments, or financial data, including work in areas such as cash management, payment operations, accounts payable, vendor maintenance, electronic payment processing, or financial systems OR A master`s or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if directly related to the work of the position; OR Combination: Education and experience may be combined to meet the basic qualifications.
