Financial Systems Specialist

Summary

About the Position: Fort Eustis, Virginia, is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beaches, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield.

Duties

• •Responsible for initiating, developing, staffing, and disseminating guidance, policies and procedures in the execution and management of modernized Security Cooperation/Security Assistance systems.
• •Responsible for identifying and ensuring the participation of appropriate Army subject matter experts in a variety of ongoing systems project teams.
• •Plans and coordinates the development, summarization, and substantiation of complex financial systems/accounting data affecting numerous accounts and customer codes of several appropriation and trust funds.
• •Utilizes data retrieval techniques and reviews products to identify system and procedural problems and takes corrective action as necessary.
• •Prepares Command position papers and informational papers addressing new system concepts and plans related to the enterprise solution development, identifying possible impacts on Army resources and programs.
• •Provides technical advice on accounting requirements, policies and local procedural systems.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing financial systems to determine the impact on business processes and operations; designing, developing, and maintaining financial systems, and compiling financial data related to budgeting, reporting, financial management, auditing, or accounting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-xx).
