Job Summary:

Integrated Fire & Security Solutions, Fort Myers Branch is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. The Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and applicable NFPA codes, as well as customer operational requirements. This individual will focus on the proper function of fire alarm systems while also inspecting and testing other low voltage systems that support our customers, including but not limited to Intrusion, Access Control, and CCTV systems.

The ideal candidate has experience performing inspections, troubleshooting system deficiencies, completing inspection documentation, and ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with industry standards.

The Inspector reports directly to the Service Manager and works closely with the Service Coordinator and other members of the service team. Service area will primarily be Fort Myers and surrounding Southwest Florida markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion systems, as well as similar competitive manufacturers' products.

Perform testing and verification of low voltage systems and associated devices to ensure proper system operation and code compliance.

Identify deficiencies, document findings, and communicate recommendations for corrective action.

Complete Service Acknowledgements, inspection reports, and all required documentation accurately using electronic or hard-copy formats.

Maintain inspection records and documentation required by customers and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), including healthcare and life safety regulatory agencies where applicable.

Manage assigned inspection schedules and complete inspections in a timely and efficient manner.

Input, retrieve, and maintain inspection documents electronically.

Adhere to all company safety standards, policies, and procedures.

Maintain professional interactions with customers while providing excellent customer service.

Coordinate with service technicians, project teams, and branch personnel to address inspection findings and customer needs.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

2+ years of experience performing inspections, testing, or servicing fire alarm systems and/or low voltage systems.

Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, applicable NFPA standards, and inspection procedures.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and technical manuals.

Ability to identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Experience completing inspection reports and maintaining accurate documentation.

Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver's license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing training and industry education.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing time and priorities.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and professionalism.

Ability to work collaboratively with team members and customers.

NICET certification or Florida Fire Alarm Inspector licensing is preferred but not required.

This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Some roles may require travel.
