Fire Sprinkler Inspector will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, and testing sprinkler systems to the prescribed standards, identifying code and non-compliance issues to the proposed scope of work and providing quality inspections. The Inspector is also responsible for conducting pre-inspection interviews and providing information surrounding what the inspection will consist of, the duration of the inspection, how billing and repair quotes will take place, and answering any questions accordingly. A desired candidate is reliable, thorough, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary point of contact and ensure customers receive quality customer service

Conduct fire inspections for existing structures, renovations, and new construction

Ensure customers are serviced to the highest level of satisfaction through quality service and that the customers’ expectations are satisfied before leaving job site

Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire/ life safety product lines to the applicable standards

Perform troubleshooting, service, and minor repairs as necessary

Identify code and other non-conformance issues and make recommendations on repairs or preventive maintenance

Review inspection report with customer and provide a detailed explanation of inspection results

Complete and produce reports that are legible, accurate and detailed

Invoice paperwork in a timely manner

Work closely with Lead Inspection Technician to ensure the customer receives the scheduled work promised

Stay current with code requirements and industry changes

Attend and complete all required safety training

Update and complete Building Reports, for inventory purposes, while performing work

Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, etc.

Ensure proper stock of parts and equipment on company-issued vehicle

Maintain and outfit company provided service vehicle to effectively complete assign tasks (i.e. – Clean and Maintenance Solo Equipment, Battery Testers, Batteries, Basic Parts Supply for Minor Repairs and Minimum Level of Truck Stock/Tools)

Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License

Authorized to work in the USA

Fire Sprinkler Inspector – Must have a NICET II for Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems and an RME-I license for the state of Texas.

High School Diploma/ GED

Two (2) years prior work experience

Ability to travel to multiple job sites each day

Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer needs

Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 100 lbs.

Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders multiples times a day

Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

Respectable verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently, with little supervision

Knowledge of fire systems and tools

Organized, systematic, and adherent to deadlines

Preferred

OSHA Certification

Knowledge working in Profit Zoom, Building Reports, and Paylocity
