What You Will Do

As a Fire Suppression Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering innovative fire protection solutions across a diverse portfolio of customer projects. Working closely with sales teams, project managers and customers, you will develop high-quality fire suppression system designs that meet technical, regulatory and client requirements. Using industry-leading design tools, including AutoCAD and BIM software, you will translate project specifications into practical engineering solutions while supporting successful project delivery from concept through to completion.

This role is based in Manchester , with the opportunity for hybrid working where appropriate. The working arrangement will be tailored to the successful candidate's experience and development needs, ensuring the right level of support, training and collaboration to help you succeed in the role.

How You Will Do It

• •Design fire suppression systems using AutoCAD, Revit and BIM tools in line with project specifications and industry standards.
• •Produce detailed engineering drawings, calculations, material schedules and technical documentation.
• •Ensure all designs comply with relevant fire protection regulations, codes, standards and customer requirements.
• •Review project specifications, contract documentation and site information to develop accurate and cost-effective solutions.
• •Collaborate with sales teams to support project handovers and provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
• •Engage directly with customers to understand operational requirements and deliver tailored design solutions.
• •Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to programme.
• •Support design reviews and resolve technical queries during project execution.
• •Maintain accurate engineering records and design documentation.
• •Identify opportunities to improve design quality, efficiency and engineering processes.

What We Are Looking For

• Required
• •Minimum of 3 years' experience in fire suppression system design or a related engineering discipline.
• •Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• •Experience producing engineering drawings, technical documentation and design calculations.
• •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• •Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• •Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• •Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

• Beneficial
• •Experience designing sprinkler fire protection systems.
• •Working knowledge of NFPA, LPCB, FM Global or other relevant fire protection standards.
• •Experience working within a customer-facing project environment.
• •Knowledge of Revit and Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• •Professional engineering membership or progress towards professional accreditation.
