Sanimax is looking for a Fleet Mechanic in our Deforest location for the day shift. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our fleet—including semi tractors, trailers, and yard equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform and oversee repairs on our fleet, primarily end-dump trailers, tractors, and yard equipment

Diagnose mechanical issues using modern troubleshooting and diagnostic tools

Conduct pre-inspections to ensure equipment readiness and compliance

Entering and completing work orders

Welding & fabricating as necessary

Partner closely with the Transportation team to meet operational equipment needs

Execute and promote preventive maintenance programs aligned with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards

Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment

Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

1+ year of experience or completed education in mechanics

Strong knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment repair and maintenance

Comfortable using basic computer systems and software

Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL (or willingness to obtain) is an asset

Welding or fabrication skills a plus
