Flight Operations Engineer (d/f/m)

A vacancy for a Technical Publication Flight Operations Engineer (d/f/m) (for Non-approved operational manuals) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• •Develop and maintain non-approved operational documentation (e.g., FCOM, MMEL, QRH) for flight crews and operators of unmanned systems.
• •Define normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures in close coordination with key stakeholders.
• •Author structured, end-user-centric flight operations documentation and establish project-specific authoring rules.
• •Contribute to develop the project specific authoring rules and guidelines for the specific manuals.
• •Provide source data for Electronic Checklists (ECL) to ensure seamless display in Ground Stations.
• •Assess and implement configuration criteria to ensure accurate content delivery to operators.
• •Ensure consistency and continuity with the approved operational manuals and ECL.
• •Participate in the continuous improvement of tools or processes for flight operations manuals.
• •Support the Technical Publications community in applying defined processes and ensuring consistency across manuals.

Desired skills and qualifications

• •Experience in flight operations is highly beneficial/recommended
• •University degree in Engineering (Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Documentation, or equivalent qualification)
• •Professional experience in an engineering or technical documentation role
• •Sound understanding of aircraft/complex systems with the ability to quickly acquire technical system knowledge
• •Proficiency in XML authoring tools (e.g., FODM, PTC Arbortext, Oxygen, XMLSpy) and familiarity with documentation standards (e.g., S1000D, ATA Spec 2300)
• •Strong communication skills with the ability to formulate complex technical content clearly ("crew/operator language")
• •Proactive mindset, strong organizational capabilities, autonomous working style, and team-oriented collaboration skills
• •Fluent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or French is an advantage
