Description
Floating Dental Office Manager & Trainer Excel Dental | Multiple locations across Greater Boston & the Merrimack Valley | Full-time
About Excel Dental Excel Dental is a growing group of nine general dentistry offices across Greater Boston and the Merrimack Valley. We're building an organization run on clear systems, measurable performance and strong leaders. As we grow, we need operators who can step into any office, run it at a high level and make the people around them better.
The Role This is a high-impact leadership role, not a single-office management job. You'll be our go-to leader for office performance and continuity. You'll step in to run an office when a manager transitions out, stabilize offices that are underperforming, and train and certify new office managers and treatment coordinators on the Excel Dental way of operating. You'll work across all locations, rotating based on business need.
What You'll Do
Office Leadership & Coverage
- Serve as interim office manager during vacancies, leaves and transitions, keeping production, collections and patient experience on track
- Run the day-to-day office: morning huddles, schedule optimization, staffing and end-of-day reporting
- Keep schedules full and productive: manage hygiene recall, unscheduled treatment follow-up and same-day scheduling
- Hold teams accountable to daily and weekly performance goals
Training & Development
- Onboard and train new office managers and treatment coordinators using our standardized training program
- Coach front office teams on case presentation, patient financing and treatment acceptance
- Audit offices for process compliance (scheduling, insurance verification, collections, reporting) and close gaps
- Document best practices and help improve training materials and SOPs
Performance Improvement
- Diagnose underperforming offices and put corrective action plans in place
- Work with Regional Managers to lift key metrics: production, collections, treatment acceptance, new patients and hygiene reappointment
- Report office performance and progress to leadership on a regular basis
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of dental office management experience (multi-location or DSO experience strongly preferred)
- Proven record of improving office performance, with results you can quantify
- Strong sales and treatment-presentation skills, and comfort helping patients use financing (CareCredit, Sunbit, etc.)
- Experience training and developing front office staff
- Working knowledge of dental insurance, billing and scheduling workflows
- Experience with dental practice management software (Denticon a plus)
- Highly organized, self-directed and comfortable changing locations based on business need
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
What We Offer
- Base salary per year plus performance bonus
- Mileage reimbursement for travel between offices
- Health, dental and vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- A clear path to regional leadership as we continue to grow
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and real influence over how the company operates
Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays based on office needs.
Excel Dental is an equal opportunity employer.
