Our Mission

At Ampersand, we are building scalable integration infrastructure that delivers real-time context to AI agents in seconds. Our declarative platform, 150+ open-source connectors, and embeddable UI components give developers the building blocks they need to ship deep, bidirectional integrations.

We power cutting-edge AI companies like 11x, Orb, Square, and Crunchbase. Almost every engineering team that has evaluated us against other solutions has chosen to use Ampersand. As our product and brand evolve, we're looking for great people to join our experienced team of former Firebase, AWS, Meta and Square engineers and operators.

About Us

Ampersand was founded in 2022 by Ayan Barua and Lauren Long — two engineers and repeat founders with a rare combination of developer tools and SaaS experience. You can learn more about our full team here .

We've raised Series A funding from top-tier investors known for their early-stage bets on generational companies like Anthropic, Apple, Twilio, Supabase, and Vercel.

Together, we believe:

This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build the connectivity infrastructure for AI. Seizing this moment requires passion, hard work, and continuous learning. At the same time, this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Velocity comes from great strategic decisions, not doing the 99 things you don't have to do.

In five core values that shape how we work every day: Craft, Customer Empathy, Ownership Mindset, Velocity, and Humility.

The Role

We're hiring a Founding Developer Relations to build Ampersand's presence in the developer community — through content, education, and genuine engagement with the people building on the platform.

This is a technical role as much as it is a community role. You'll create tutorials, speak at events, engage in the communities where developers are already talking, and serve as a direct feedback loop between the developer ecosystem and the product team. Ampersand already has strong signals in the developer community — your job is to build on them intentionally.

What You’ll Own

Developer Documentation — Own the quality of Ampersand's developer docs. You're the editor in chief, even though all engineers contribute.

Technical Content — Create guides, tutorials, API references, sample apps, and troubleshooting content that developers actually use — not marketing dressed up as education.

Deep-Dive Content — Write technical blog posts that explain the Ampersand product, how we built certain features, and what engineers building integrations need to know.

Conference & Events — Source conferences for yourself and the CTO to speak at, apply to RFPs, and prepare decks and demos for accepted talks.

Developer Meetups — Work with the Founding Marketer to host regular developer community events.

Developer Advocacy — Dive into code to improve the onboarding experience end-to-end — whether that means updating a sign-up flow or fixing an API status code.

What You’ll Bring

3+ years in Developer Relations, developer advocacy, solutions engineering, or software engineering

Technical credibility — you can read and write code, and developer audiences will know it

Strong written and verbal communication; your content earns attention because it's genuinely useful

Experience creating technical content that developers actually use — not marketing dressed up as education

Comfortable presenting at conferences, webinars, or technical community events

A real interest in improving developer experience end-to-end, including the unglamorous parts

Experience with APIs, integrations, infrastructure products, or developer tooling is a strong plus

The Perks

Competitive salary and equity

Medical, dental, and vision insurance

Free lunch on in-office days (Mon/Tue/Thu)

401(k) with company match, commuter benefits, HSA

Up to 4 weeks PTO

Team socials and retreats
