Founding Full-Stack iOS Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at a YC-backed consumer wearable startup in the emotional intelligence space. You will own the companion iOS app end-to-end, translating real-time emotional-state outputs from a proprietary AI inference model into a polished, intuitive consumer experience. As one of the earliest team members, you will shape the primary user touchpoint and have a direct hand in defining how the product grows.

What You'll Do

Own the companion iOS app from architecture through deployment and ongoing iteration.

Surface emotional-state insights from the core inference model through clean, accessible interfaces.

Build and ship a consumer-grade mobile experience that meets a high bar for polish and usability.

What We're Looking For

2 or more years of professional iOS engineering experience; this role is not suitable for fresh graduates.

Strong Swift proficiency and the ability to own technical decisions autonomously as a founding engineer.

A proven track record shipping polished, consumer-grade iOS applications.

Experience building data-driven apps that present complex model outputs through intuitive interfaces.

Solid CS fundamentals and comfort working independently across time zones.

Ability to work without new visa sponsorship (visa transfers are acceptable).

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $150,000 USD (or approximately GBP 75,000 for London-based candidates). The role also includes meaningful early-stage equity, up to 1 to 2% . No new visa sponsorship; visa transfers are welcome.

Location

On-site in London, England, United Kingdom . The team also has presence in San Francisco; candidates in other locations with flexibility to work across time zones may be considered.
