A1Apps builds mobile and web products in the productivity and utility space (PDF tools, security, data and AI-powered apps, and more). We’re a lean, experiment-driven team that ships quickly, relies heavily on data to guide decisions, and works across Android, iOS, and Web. Why we’re looking for a Fractional CTO

We don’t yet need a full-time CTO, but we want senior technical leadership to help us level up engineering: sharpening processes, pushing innovation, and supporting our leads as we scale. This will be a high-leverage, part-time engagement focused on systems and people rather than day-to-day coding.

What you’d drive

• •Engineering process and quality – Define and refine lightweight, effective processes for planning, delivery, QA, and release; introduce best practices without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
• •Technical strategy and innovation – Help identify and validate new technical bets (including AI/ML where it’s practical), modernize our stack and practices where it matters, and ensure we’re building for speed and long-term maintainability.
• •Hiring and org design – Partner on hiring plans, define the engineering org shape we need over the next 12–24 months, and participate in senior hiring and calibration of our bar.
• •Guidance for leads – Act as a coach and sparring partner for our current leads, helping them grow in architecture, process, and people leadership.

Overall, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with fast-moving product teams, wants meaningful influence on how engineering operates, and prefers a fractional engagement over a full-time executive role.
