The Opportunity

Our Canada Gas Portfolio Management team is looking to add a Functional Lead to the Portfolio Enablement – Canada team, based in Calgary, AB.

Reporting to the Manager, Portfolio Enablement - Canada, this position serves as the Functional Lead for the Portfolio Enablement team and is responsible for advancing portfolio management practices through leadership in reporting, forecasting, governance, and stakeholder engagement. The role provides strategic visibility into portfolio performance and supports informed decision-making across Canada Gas Capital and Expense portfolios.

The successful candidate will consolidate portfolio insights into an integrated view, develop executive-level reporting and recommendations, and serve as a key point of contact for communicating portfolio risks, trends, opportunities, and strategic considerations to senior leadership. In addition, the role will facilitate alignment across a broad stakeholder network and champion process improvements, governance enhancements, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement opportunities while providing functional guidance and support to Portfolio Analysts.

What you’ll do

Lead and provide functional guidance to Portfolio Analysts, ensuring consistency in reporting, analysis, forecasting, governance, and portfolio management practices.

Consolidate and synthesize portfolio information across programs and portfolios to develop an integrated portfolio view that supports leadership decision-making.

Develop executive-level reporting, insights, and recommendations, and effectively communicate portfolio performance, risks, trends, opportunities, and strategic considerations to senior leadership.

Analyze portfolio data to identify emerging trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers relative to project forecasts, expenditures, strategic objectives, and portfolio targets.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Safety & Technical Services teams, Projects, Financial Planning, Operations, and Business Unit teams, to drive alignment and informed decision-making.

Develop, enhance, and maintain governance frameworks and tools, ensuring portfolio management processes, standards, and reporting practices are consistently applied across programs and portfolios.

Support annual budget development, forecasting, and long-range planning activities related to Canada Gas Capital and Expense portfolios.

Identify and lead opportunities for automation, reporting enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen portfolio visibility, efficiency, and decision support.

Act as a central point of coordination for portfolio reporting and insights, ensuring leadership has a consistent and holistic understanding of portfolio performance and priorities

Minimum Qualifications

Post-Secondary degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.

10+ years of progressive experience within TC Energy

Demonstrated leadership ability, including leading initiatives, influencing outcomes, and providing guidance across teams.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Highly self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional stakeholder groups and leadership teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate meaningful insights.

• •Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the development and delivery of executive-level presentations, reporting, and recommendations.
• •Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Power BI

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with portfolio management, pipeline or facilities integrity, project execution, finance, project controls, commercial, or related disciplines

Experience supporting or leading the execution of projects, programs, or strategic initiatives.

Experience with automation tools, reporting solutions, or process automation technologies.

Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and portfolio planning.

Experience developing or improving business processes, governance frameworks, reporting methodologies, or operational practices.

Prior experience working with BPC OM&A (Business Planning & Consolidation) or SAP Portfolio & Project Management (PPM)
