• As a student working in the GE Vernova Erlanger Service Center, you will be an active contributor to the projects and decision making within operations in both the office and shop floor manufacturing environment.

Job Description

What you'll do (job responsibilities)

• •Work closely with the team on-site in Erlanger, Kentucky on projects often requiring independent decision-making. These projects are typically scoped to last 2 - 6 months in duration but can last for as long as 2 years.
• •Work with operators and management to determine root cause of quality defects and inefficiencies based on efficiency data and standards.
• •Expected to work both in an office environment and a shop floor manufacturing environment.
• •Maintain multiple projects in various departments.
• •Develop graphic presentations using PowerPoint or similar programs, to communicate progress, share best practices, and provide updates.
• •May be asked to analyze data with Excel or various other analysis tools.
• •May be asked to take on special projects that fall within the function the intern is studying. For example, may be asked to write software code if in an engineering internship or might be asked to perform compensation analysis if in a HR internship.
• •May be asked to participate in early talent events, seminars, or trainings.
• •Other duties as assigned.

Employment dates: January 2027 through April 2027 (Spring)

What you'll bring (basic qualifications)

• •Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
• •Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Other eligibility requirements

Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.

What will make you stand out (Desired Characteristics)

• •In countries where applicable, a GPA of at least 3.0.
• •Proficiency in Excel syntax and automation, PowerPoint, and Word.
• •Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines.
• •Previous experience using independent thought processes to plan ahead, process information, maintain workflow and anticipate future needs of the team.
• •Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
• •Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines
• •Effective time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities.
• •Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
• •Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

The pay for this position ranges from $24.00/hr - $31.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.

This position is also eligible for:

Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.

GE Vernova Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
