Geospatial Management Analyst

Avid Core is seeking a Geospatial Management Analyst with experience utilizing geographic information systems to support a federal government client in Washington, D.C. We’re looking for a passionate, detail-oriented person interested in supporting federal law enforcement.

Salary Range: $40,000-$75,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

Supports government operations to perform geographic information system activities; requirements analysis and development; support field activities; and ancillary activities required to acquire and deploy equipment and maintain facilities.

Supports the creation and maintenance of both static and web-based GIS solutions

Perform complex analysis and mapping projects to support national security operations

Extract, transform, and load data into GIS databases

Work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, perform complex analyses, and develop multi-layered maps accomplished by using an appropriate combination of tools found in the GIS application suite and other programming environments

Support development of Sharepoint, PowerBI tools, and informational databases.

Performs other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

Must have a strong understanding of GIS workflows and database fundamentals

3+ years of GIS experience supporting a public sector client

Proficiency with the full Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)

Exceptional editing and data analysis skills to ensure deliverables submitted to the client for final approval are complete and error-free

Candidates shall have a demonstrated high level of competence using the ESRI ArcGIS ecosystem, including ArcGIS Pro

Experience analyzing data and developing Power BI tools and dashboards is a plus.

Experience supporting federal, state, local, or other public-sector clients is preferred

Ability to obtain and retain the required federal security clearance is required

Education:

BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science or other related field w/ GIS experience

Location:

This full-time position is based at federal client sites in Washington, DC. The selected candidate must be available to work onsite and may be assigned between two downtown client locations. Telework may be permitted only with prior written government approval and may be modified, suspended, or revoked based on mission needs.
