Global Funds Treasury Intern

About the Team

Our Global Funds Treasury team sits at the heart of the firm's trading and financing operations, managing cash, liquidity, margin, and the firm's relationships with prime brokers, custodians, and counterparties. The team is responsible for optimizing financing costs, managing securities lending and stock borrow/loan activity, monitoring margin and collateral requirements, and ensuring the firm has efficient access to liquidity across multiple currencies, products, and markets.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated intern to join our Global Funds Treasury team for a hands-on internship. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a hedge fund, working alongside experienced professionals on real-world projects involving cash management, financing, and counterparty risk. No prior hedge fund experience is required – we are looking for strong analytical thinkers who are eager to learn.

Responsibilities

Support the team in sourcing and securing stock loan locates for short sale requests, working directly with traders to ensure timely borrow availability ahead of trade execution

Assist with daily cash and liquidity monitoring across multiple accounts and currencies

Support the team in tracking and reconciling margin requirements and moving collateral to satisfy obligations across all counterparties

Support the desk in executing and monitoring repo and reverse repo transactions, tracking rates, terms, and counterparty allocations to help optimize the firm's secured funding and cash deployment

Support process improvement initiatives, including automation of manual reconciliation and reporting tasks

Participate in live projects on margin and financing analytics, as well as counterparty data aggregation

Collaborate with other teams including Portfolio managers, trading, operations, risk, and technology to understand end-to-end workflows

Required Skills

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comfort working with large datasets

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables); basic familiarity with financial concepts (interest rates, balance sheets, cash flow)

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

High degree of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information

Nice-to-Have Skills

Interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, or the hedge fund industry more broadly

Familiarity with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA) for data analysis and automation

Coursework or exposure to fixed income, money markets, or securities financing concepts (repo, stock loan, margin)

Prior internship experience in finance, banking, or accounting (not necessarily hedge fund-specific)
