Location

This role is open globally, but location is set in China (Beijing), Finland (Helsinki), Germany (Mannheim), India (Bangalore), Italy (Sesto San Giovanni) and US (New Berlin). The work model is hybrid #LI-hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead ABB Drive Products’ global Product Engineering and Quality function, with end-to-end accountability for product performance, quality, compliance, availability, and cost competitiveness across the product lifecycle. As a senior global leader, you will define and execute the functional strategy, lead a high-performing international organization, and drive engineering and quality excellence to support business growth and customer success.

This position reports to the Division President, Motion Drive Products.

In this role you will be accountable for:

• •Define and execute the global Product Engineering & Quality strategy, translating business priorities into a clear roadmap, operating model, and organizational agenda.
• •Own end-to-end product engineering, quality, and portfolio performance, ensuring product availability, reliability, compliance, competitiveness, and continuous improvement based on customer and field insights.
• •Lead and develop the global Product Engineering and Quality function, strengthening governance, accountability, capabilities, talent development, succession planning, and a high-performance culture.
• •Drive engineering and quality excellence, advancing processes, technologies, innovation, standardization, scalability, and effective resolution of complex product and customer challenges.
• •Foster cross-functional collaboration and resource optimization, partnering across R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Sales while managing budgets, investments, manufacturing support, and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• •Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, with 12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, quality, R&D, product management or a related field.
• •Proven experience leading complex, global organizations with broad accountability for product portfolios, engineering, quality, reliability and customer outcomes.
• •Strategic and business acumen, with the ability to translate business strategy into functional strategy, priorities, investments and long-term capability development.
• •Understanding of product engineering, quality management and the product lifecycle, with the ability to connect technical excellence with business and customer value.
• •Strong customer orientation and understanding of customer needs and experience, with the ability to translate customer and market insights into product and quality improvements.
• •Proven track record in organizational transformation and global capability development, including talent, succession and organizational development.
• •Financial, stakeholder and people leadership skills, with experience managing resources and developing high-performing teams across cultures and geographies.
• •Strong communication, influencing and cross-cultural collaboration skills, with fluent written and spoken English.
